At Filía Crete, we are more than just a business; we are a story of friendship, family, and our love for Crete. In Greek, “Filía” means friendship, and that is exactly what we stand for. Two families, one shared passion: bringing real, pure products from Greece to your table.

Our story begins in the village of Zaros on Crete, where childhood friends Manos and Stavros grew up amongst the olive trees. When Manos met his Dutch girlfriend Quienne and later moved to the Netherlands, the idea was born to share the flavours of Crete there as well. While Stavros continued focusing on production back home on Crete, Quienne and Manos started building that dream further from Amsterdam. That is how Filía Crete came to life.

The olive trees our oil comes from have been in Manos’ family for generations. Since taking over the groves from his father, Manos has worked entirely in an organic way. To us, that simply feels natural: taking good care of the trees, the soil, and the surrounding nature. That is why we do not use chemical pesticides and allow the olives to grow the way nature intended.

Through our close connection to Crete, we have seen firsthand how important this approach is. The landscape is changing, summers are becoming hotter and drier, and for that reason we believe it is more important than ever to work in harmony with nature. With knowledge, patience, and a deep love for the craft, we make sure our trees stay healthy and continue to give their best fruit year after year.

What started with our extra virgin olive oil is slowly growing into something more. Guided by the same passion and love for pure, authentic products, we continue to expand Filía Crete step by step. Whatever we create or share, our philosophy always stays the same: producing honest, natural products with respect for tradition, quality, and the nature of Crete.

What motivates us most is honesty. Over the years, Manos saw how often olive oil was diluted or mixed with other oils to increase profit. That never felt right to us. We want to show how olive oil is truly meant to taste: pure, fresh, and directly from our own trees.

Our dream has always stayed simple: sharing authentic products from Greece with people who appreciate quality. No mass production, just products with a real story behind them — from our family on Crete to your kitchen.
